Karl Birro
Consultant
Karl’s focus is on helping organisations to improve their strategic focus and deliver improved performance through stronger implementation. He balances rigorous thinking and analysis with a practical approach to getting things done and the change management aspects of complex situations. He has particular experience in devising and implementing retail channel strategies for branch, telephone and ATM networks.
He has broad and varied experience in the Financial Services sector, having worked for Abbey for over 20 years, where he had many roles including Group Strategy Director. He has extensive senior management across Capital Markets, Investment Management, FI and General Insurance. He also managed a number of key customer focused units within Abbey. He has executed turnarounds, overseen multi-million pound programmes and managed large teams across sales, customer service and marketing silos
Karl has a BA in Social Sciences, an MSc in Marketing and a PhD in Strategic Management and Planning
