Jim Van Patten
Consultant
Jim is an expert in process improvement. For the past 25 years he has developed and implemented effective, practical approaches to ensuring safe, high-quality and productive workplaces. His experience ranges across industries from financial services to high-tech to manufacturing and from small privately-owned facilities to large, global corporations.
He has worked with Fortune 100 companies to develop and implement train performance and training solutions to business critical knowledge and skill challenges. As a result of his work for the Kaizen Institute of America, Jim was asked to join KIA as a senior consultant in 1989, where he helped companies implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement. Jim has numerous publications, and has consulted to various organisations concerning lean manufacturing, organisational culture change and instructional design theory and application.
His clients include Britannia Building Society, Chase Manhattan Bank, Fidelity Investments, HBOS Lloyds TSB, Ford Motor Company and General Electric. Jim is based in Boston, USA and works in many parts of the world.
