Barry Hine

Consultant

Barry is an expert in HR strategies and their implementation. He is also a skilled executive coach. Working for a major bank, he had twenty-five years change management, people management and executive coaching experience in the UK and overseas. His recent consultancy assignments have included facilitating strategic reviews and change management programmes, analysing how client companies manage their people, reviewing the effectiveness of HR functions and designing new performance management initiatives. His clients have included Cofunds, Gerrard, Markel International, Moscow Narodny Bank, Probation Service, Takeda Europe, University of Nottingham, Virgin Money and VT Group.

Previously he was HSBC’s Head of Human Resources, UK and Europe for sixteen years. He was part of the management team which moved into Midland Bank when it was bottom of the UK banking league and led the HR function for seven years during its transformation into HSBC Bank.

Barry is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and is accredited as an executive coach by the University of Strathclyde. A speaker at national conferences, he has also made various broadcasts on radio/TV and lectures on Kings College’s MSc programme in Organisational Psychology and Psychiatry.
